The Work We Take On

Most of the calls we get are springs, openers, tracks, and panels on doors that have been doing their job since the house was built. Housing in this part of Baton Rouge mostly went up between 1962 and 2013, with the median build year sitting around 1989, and a lot of the stock across the named neighborhoods we cover dates to the 1980s and 90s. That matters because a door from that era usually has different spring sizing and bracket spacing than what's sold new today, so we bring parts rather than guess on site.

The moderate-heat climate here is hard on rubber seals, nylon rollers, and lubrication more than it is on steel itself - doors that sit closed all summer tend to show dry tracks and brittle weatherstrip before anything else fails. We work on torsion and extension springs, belt and chain openers, cable replacement, and panel or section swaps.

What we don't do: structural framing changes to the opening itself. If the header or jamb needs rebuilding before a door can go back in, that's carpentry work outside what we handle, and we'll tell you that on the phone instead of after a truck roll.

Where We Travel

We run jobs out from Baton Rouge in every direction, and the distances below are how we actually plan a day, not marketing copy. Mid City South is about a mile from us to the ESE, Lobdell/Woodale about 2 miles NNE, and South Baton Rouge roughly 3 miles WSW - those are same-morning calls most days.

Farther out, Merrydale and Port Allen sit about 4 miles away, Inniswold around 5, and Oak Hills Place and Monticello close to 6 miles out. Village St. George and Brownfields run about 7 miles, with Brusly and Shenandoah closer to 8. Old Jefferson and Addis sit near 9 miles, Baker and Central around 10.

On the far edge of what we'll drive for a standard call, Plaquemine is about 13 miles, Prairieville 14, Zachary and Walker 16, Grosse Tete 18, Port Vincent 19, and Slaughter 20 miles out. If you're near the long end of that list, say so when you call - it changes how we schedule the route for that day.

The Short Version

Call (225) 230-1673. Someone picks up, asks what the door is doing (won't open, stuck halfway, loud grinding, spring snapped - whatever it is), and gets you a window for the same day or the next. We're based at 11765 Darryl Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70815, and that's where the trucks stage from each morning.

We don't run a dispatch center or a call queue - the person who answers is the person scheduling the job, so you don't repeat your story three times before a truck shows up. If your door is a safety issue right now - spring broken with the door down, cable snapped, opener running but door not moving - say that up front and it gets bumped ahead of routine calls.

There's no form to fill out first. The phone number does the work.

Frequently asked questions

Do you come out the same day?

Often, yes, especially for the closer neighborhoods like Mid City South or Lobdell/Woodale. For areas farther out on our travel list - Zachary, Walker, Slaughter - same-day depends on how the route for that day is already laid out. Call and ask; we'll tell you straight whether today works or if it's tomorrow.

What if my opener is newer but the door itself is old?

That's common given how much of the housing stock here dates to the 1980s and 90s. A newer opener on an old door usually just means the drive unit got swapped at some point while the door, springs, and track stayed original. We check both ends before quoting anything.

Do you handle jobs where the frame around the door is damaged?

Not the framing itself. If the header or jamb needs to be rebuilt before a door can be reinstalled, that's carpentry work we don't do. We'll let you know on the call if that looks like the situation so you're not waiting on us for the wrong kind of job.
